Go Green!

Latest update on my ‘Green Journey’

It’s a New Year and my guided tour business in Aberdeenshire is off to a flying start!

My application for the Green Tourism Award Scheme is up and running! Very exciting! I have always had a passion for the Scottish land, landscapes, nature & wildlife (probably due to the fact that I grew up in the Highlands of Scotland living on a croft with my parents) so joining this green movement made perfect sense to me. I love the fact that what I do every day on my tours is going to help preserve our special & fragile planet and that I can pass on the message to fellow travellers.

The Green Tourism Award is an eco-development programme and an internationally respected accreditation scheme. It is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. It has helped thousands of businesses get greener, saving them money and making a real difference to the environment.

I hope to complete my application soon, submit it and hopefully earn a Bronze Level for commitment to sustainability & environmental best practice.

I am lucky to be operating ‘Highland Journeys’ in one of the most beautiful countries in the world and living in rural Aberdeenshire, not far from the city of Aberdeen, allows me to apply many of the Green Tourism Practices.

A warm Scottish welcome awaits you! Contact Nicola from Highland Journeys for more information on tours of Aberdeenshire and Royal Deeside.
